Abstract

To reduce magnetic field radiation and power loss in the dynamic wireless charging system for electric vehicles, normally the power is not supplied to the entire transmission lane, but only to the transmission segments where the electric vehicle passes. This paper proposes a new method for switching control of transmission lane segments according to the electric vehicle position. The proposed method does not need to use additional sensors, cameras, or other devices to recognize the electric vehicle position, but simply measures the current on the coils below the transmission lane. In addition, the switching control position had chosen so that the power pulsation is minimal. Research results have shown the switching order of the modules in the transmission lane, electric vehicle position is recognized accurately, the maximum power pulse rate is 8.3%.
